Years of partnership based on knowledge and trust
Dennis op de Weegh, owner of Bitency, started his organisation in Rijen, North Brabant, in 2008. With the type of clients he has in mind and the services he offers them, he chooses his suppliers well. "I myself am of course a real techie, the demands I place on my suppliers are not small: on a technical level I want to be able to brainstorm, in terms of hardware it has to be above-average quality and a partner in the region is ideal. This, so that I can “turn the knobs” myself."
Continuity is key
With a previous data centre partner, this turned out not to be the ideal match. The power failed there several times and this is obviously a no-go for a data centre. ‘My quality requirements were not being met so I started looking further.’ So the choice quickly fell on Previder, formerly Global-e Datacenter, which itself opened its doors in Rijen,Noord-Brabant in 2009. Starting with a rack in that same data centre, this partnership began. Bitency started as a provider designing websites and associated web hosting and domain registration. It soon became clear that its clients also needed services such as virtual private servers, dedicated servers and colocation.
As Bitency's customer base and services grew, so did its need for more space in the data centre. So, thanks to good consultation and advice, Bitency expanded to Previder's other data centre in Rijen. Dennis: ‘More space and redundancy means more trust, growth and continuity towards my own customers.’
Trust earned
Bitency now uses quite a few racks. spread over two data centres. Where they were at the time one of the first customers of then Global-e Datacenter, this long-standing cooperation continues on the basis of knowledge and trust. "When I call Previder, immediate action is taken. I am a name and not a number here; the people I talk to know immediately what I need. You are important to them and they live up to that."
Many Bitency customers place high demands on their Internet Service Provider, think of certain (ISO) certifications. These requirements can all be ticked off at Previder. ‘A solid partner also gives confidence back to my customers.’ Says Dennis.

A partnership that really works both ways
"Sometimes I get a request from a customer that fits in better with Previder's services, then we're happy to send them on. After all, you know they'll be well served. Vice versa, Previder does the same for us. Because we know each other so well, this interplay is possible. And if I get a lot of new customers through Previder, I can buy a new rack from them. So it really works both ways."
