This article tells you how to install the Citrix Receiver and how to remove your current version from your workstation.

Updating Citrix Receiver

The Citrix Receiver still uses TLS 1.0 and 1.1, so it is important that you switch to the Citrix Workspace app.

We always recommend using the LTSR versions. The latest LTSR version, you can download here.

Remove Citrix Receiver

Before installing the new version, it is important that you remove the current Citrix Receiver from the your workstation.

You can do this in two ways:

1. Using the Citrix Cleanup utility, you can uninstall the old version. Then you can install the new (LTSR) version. Click here for the Removal Tool Download.

2. Using the new LTSR installation with value/Forceinstall. Start CMD as Administrator and navigate to the location where the Citrix Workspace installation is located. Enter the following command: ‘CitrixWorkspaceApp.exe /forceinstall’. You have uninstalled the Citrix Receiver.
