Setting up IMAP mail on iPhone / iPad

Using these instructions, you can set up the default email application on an iPhone and iPad for email addresses you use on the Previder mail cluster. This guide is written for iOS version 12, which does not differ much from other versions of iOS. This guide assumes you want to use the IMAP protocol. If not, you can find the POP server settings here.

On the device's home screen, tap “Settings”.

On this screen, tap “Passwords and accounts” in the left-hand column.

After this, tap “New account”.

Tap “Other”.

Tik in dit scherm op 'Voeg mailaccount toe'.

Under “Name”, enter the name you would like other people to see on the screen when they receive an e-mail from you.

Under “E-mail”, enter the e-mail address.

Under “Password”, enter the password associated with the e-mail address.

The “Description” field is optional.

Tap “Next”.

At the top of the screen, tap IMAP.

Under “Incoming mail server” under “Host name”, enter the address “imap.previder.co.uk”.

Under “Username”, enter the user name associated with the mailbox. This is not the same as the e-mail address.

Then enter the password for the account under “Password”.

Under “Server outgoing mail” under “Host name”, enter the address “smtp.previder.co.uk”.

Under “Username” and “Password”, enter the same as you did under “Server incoming mail”.

Then tap “Save” at the top right.

After this, your e-mail account is configured.

When you now open the Mail application, you will see your e-mail appear in it. You can now send e-mail.
