What does ESU cost?
ESU can buy you by the year. The first period is October 2023 to October 2024. You cannot purchase the following years at this time. Microsoft published on 1 October 2023 the possibility of purchasing this for SPLA via CSP. The number of ESUs must match the number of (virtual) cores used by Windows.

* Please note! A minimum of one eight-core ESU must be purchased per server. For servers with more than eight VCPUs, additional two-core or eight-core licences must be purchased. The ESU must match the underlying Windows version on the (virtual) server for which ESU is requested; i.e. Windows Server standard (Std) or Windows Server Datacenter(DC).
