Creating users and assigning rights

Previder partners who have a white-label account can create users among their end customers. This can be useful when customers are in trial mode and need to be put into production, for example. When a customer has several devices hanging below them and employs a system administrator who has to supervise the backups, this function also comes in handy. This user can then log in with his credentials and perform certain tasks. The tasks he can perform depend on the roles he or she has. Below is an overview of the roles and their corresponding rights:

The following is an explanation of the actions:

  • Device Management - create, manage and delete devices (backup objects).
  • Partner Management - create, manage and delete partners.
  • Product Management - create, manage and delete products.
  • User Management - create, manage and delete users.
  • Invoice Generating - generating invoices.
  • ContactPerson Management - add and edit contacts.
  • CustomColumn Management - adding and editing a custom column in the central management panel.
  • Notification Management - sending messages to users.
  • Report Management - creating reports.

\\CREATING A NEW USER

To create a new user under the client, do the following:

  • Log into the Cloud Management Console with your Whitelabel account.
  • At the top, go to ' Partners' -> 'Users'
  • In this screen, click on “Add users”.
  • On the next screen, select a role for the user and assign a username and password. Then click on “Save”.

You can then add this user in the CMC via “ Actions” -> “Connect” -> “New login” and log in with it.
