Rates PaaS+
All PaaS+ costs are based on your actual usage. This means that you pay for the resources allocated and consumed. There are four different types of resources based on which are charged within Previder PaaS+:
- Cloudlets (reserved & dynamic)
- Disk space
- External IP traffic
- Public IP addresses
What is a cloudlet?
A cloudlet is a composite unit of resources of 128 MB of RAM and 400 MHz CPU. Based on the number of cloudlets used, we account for them. Multiple cloudlets are assigned to each PaaS+ instance. For example, eight cloudlets would give you 1GB RAM and 3.2GHz CPU power. The number of cloudlets allocated to your servers at any given time varies based on the resource requirements of the application.
How do I know my cloudlet usage?
You can view real-time cloudlet usage in the dashboard for your entire environment and for each server individually. The dashboard also shows real-time graphs of CPU, RAM, network and disk space consumption for each server in your PaaS+ environments.
Our cloudlet pricing has an automatic volume discount. When configuring your environment, you have the option to set separate cloudlet limits for each server:
1. Reserved cloudlets
You commit to paying for these cloudlets (unless your environment is stopped), regardless of your actual usage. Reserved cloudlets are cheaper than dynamic cloudlets.
2. Dynamic cloudlets
These cloudlets are automatically added and removed from your servers in real time based on your resource requirements, up to your maximum scale limit. You only pay for dynamic cloudlets based on your actual usage.
How do I manage my budget?
You can set a maximum limit for each server in your environment. This limits the maximum amount of resources your application can use and therefore also limits your costs.
What other rates are there?
The following components are also charged based on usage:
Storage (per GB per hour)
External IP traffic (per GB per month)
Public IP addresses (per address per hour)
Where can I find the rates?
The current (tiered) rates can be found in the PaaS+ portal after you have created an account there. You can also contact our sales department.
