‘In the first 10 years, the software was built on an on-premise basis. Since 2012, only cloud technology has been used. PCA's software solutions can therefore be accessed anywhere in the world, at any time,’ says Maurice Tijs, director/owner of PCA. The era of on-premise software in PCA's history can be considered the second phase of its life. In PCA's third phase, cloud technology enables it to excel. PCA has developed a large number of functionalities under architecture. ‘The results that can be achieved with the software are enormous,’ says Maurice.

Building applications is much less time-consuming than it used to be: "We have built a communication framework that means we don't have to do as much specific programming. In the past, communication was completely specific to each application, but now we are completely data-unaware in the communication layer. For example, our digital planning board no longer knows anything about the mobile system – and vice versa. This means that we can develop a client independently of the system. And that is the only thing we need to do, whereas in the past we also had to build a communication part for the client, a communication channel and a communication part for the ERP system. That was literally four times as labour-intensive. What's more, communication sessions can now be much more robust, as there is no longer any need for a header or footer. The user doesn't even notice that communication is taking place."

Maurice is very pleased with the result: "I'm very happy with it; the Previder Cloud makes us more flexible than ever. Previder is also a professional organisation, with whom we can work together to find solutions. They have the knowledge, they are technically proficient, and their people are always easily accessible. You can always call someone directly and discuss things. What I think is great is that Previder is also critical of itself and its own system. In 2012, Maurice said: ‘For the time being, we can move forward with Previder, because the foundation that is now in place will certainly last another ten years.’ That prediction has come true.
