Collected mobility information

Thanks to Mobidot's scientific background, the company is able to enrich the collected mobility information about people on a large scale with additional data. Ophuis: "The sensors in smartphones enable us to build a highly detailed profile of participants fully automatically. We collect this information in our back-end at Previder's data centre, where it is combined with other data, such as geo-information, precipitation, temperature and work schedules. Using our own software and algorithms, we can apply big data analysis to this, which provides valuable insights for both governments and private organisations."

For Mobidot, it is extremely important that the infrastructure is extremely secure. Ophuis: "We work with a lot of privacy-sensitive data. After all, you collect all kinds of personal information from people. Previder has its affairs well organised in this area too, with all the necessary certifications and a managed firewall. It's also reassuring to know that your data isn't stored in China, for example, but in a Dutch data centre. We regularly receive questions about this from customers."
