Renewal of IT environment

At the end of 2017, MC Kinderwens was so dissatisfied with the outdated IT environment that the search for better alternatives started. The renewal of the IT environment consisted of two phases: In phase 1, the existing electronic patient record was replaced and then, in phase 2, the entire IT environment was moved to the cloud. This involved choosing Workplace Online; Previder's flexible working environment in which business-critical applications are integrated and linked.

The central question in the search for a new EHR was: How can we use a new patient record to make the quality and safety of our care even better and put the patient first? Arne van Heusden, director and gynecologist at Kinderwens Medical Center: "We switched because of long-term dissatisfaction with the previous hospital information system. We noticed that that system lagged far behind in terms of registration and planning. The administrative burden was too high and that caused irritation, grief and high costs. At some point you say: done." Eventually, the fertility clinic ended up with Emma, TIMEFF's electronic patient record. In Emma, medical, logistical and financial care processes are integrated and can be easily planned, registered and declared.

Not only was MC Kinderwens' EPD in need of replacement, but also the local IT environment was severely outdated. "Through TIMEFF we came in contact with Previder. They have guided healthcare clinics to the cloud before and that gave us confidence. We were looking for more assurance of continuity and an increase in security. Thanks to Previder, our IT environment now runs much less risk and reliability has increased significantly. Moreover, we now comply with every conceivable certification, such as NEN 7510 and GDPR legislation. In addition, we have Previder as our point of contact in case of a failure." MC Kinderwens now has access to a workplace in the cloud. This reduces the fertility clinic's need to invest in its own equipment.
