Light in the dark?

The annual Black Building Test!

Every (half) year, we carry out a so-called Black Building Test in our data centres. This involves switching off the power supply completely to simulate what happens in the event of a total power failure. The purpose of this test is to check whether all emergency systems respond correctly and in time to keep the critical infrastructure operational without interruption. In this video, we would like to show you what the Black Building Test is like at one of our sites in Rijen.

Recently, it was that time again, the time when we ask ourselves, ‘Are our data centres really as resilient as we think?’
The semi-annual BlackBuildingTest where we fully test our ability to keep running during the most realistic possible outage.

It is a reality check for our business continuity: we just pull the plug... because why do it easy when it can be hard right?
Good news! Once again, the data centre team was on their qui-vive and showed that thanks to their knowledge and skilful performance, we were once again not in the dark.
