Speed and IP telephony
Until recently, Ambulance Oost struggled with slow internet connections between locations. "That wasn't a cause for alarm, though, because only non-business-critical applications were affected. So it didn't pose a threat to the quality of our emergency services. But internally, it was sometimes difficult. What's more, we needed faster connections because we wanted to switch to IP telephony. As we had already had good experiences with Previder, we approached them to ask if they could provide a higher speed for the same price."
Previder quickly came up with a complete solution that was not only faster but also cheaper.
Broader than ICT alone
René Markink has been working at Ambulance Oost as an ICT staff member since 2003. Together with two colleagues, he is responsible for everything related to ICT: "From mobile telephony to route navigation and from PCs in the workplace to mobile phones. Indeed, it's a bit broader than just ICT. We do just about everything that has a plug in it, with the exception of medical equipment. We have external specialists for that."
