Previder is first Dutch Port-compliant IT service provider
Previder has developed a Port Reference Implementation for its IaaS platform in collaboration with VNG Realisatie. That combination makes Previder the first Dutch provider of Port-compliant IaaS services offered entirely from Dutch soil. This strengthens its position as a reliable partner for the public sector and it contributes to a more secure and future-proof digital government.
The platform gives municipalities a cloud infrastructure that fully meets the requirements of the Haven initiative. Using the Haven standard makes it easier to move platform- and vendor-independent. Thus, with this new service from Previder, governments will have more control over the portability of their data, applications and digital services without depending on foreign hyperscalers. "Previder is keen to play a role in assisting the public sector to realise their ambitions for increasing digital autonomy. We know the issues and the playing field and are therefore pleased to be able to offer the public sector a secure, flexible and locally managed infrastructure," said Peter Bult - Lead Consultant Previder.

The Haven initiative is part of the broader Common Ground initiative launched by the VNG to modernise the digital infrastructure of Dutch municipalities. This modernisation will allow municipalities to operate digitally with greater attention to data protection, privacy and cost control. The solution keeps data within Dutch borders and is based on open standards, which is an important prerequisite for a secure and independent public sector digital infrastructure.
